We need more info here. What round is it chambered for? And how was it shot? I would assume that the barrel is just fine after 600 shots, especially if it is a 30 cal.

My Savage 10fp (308) has at least 5000 rounds through, and shoots lights out. The first 1000-1500 were usually shot pretty slowly, but since then, I've shot F class, which tends to be 22 or 23 rounds in 10 minutes. I've also shot tactical matches that tend to be 10ish rounds in 2 or 3 minutes. Nearly all of the ammo I've run have been MAX loads (45.5 Varget/175smk@2800fps).
Bottom line: 308s last a long time.

Obviously, you can use the round count as a bargaining chip. However,as it applies to YOU, the 600 rounds are probably an advantage because the barrel is now broken in, and you don't have to spend 6 months or a year and $300+ on ammo breaking the barrel in. Mine was accurate from the beginning, but fouling didn't really settle out until ~ 1000 rounds.
