Need to replace the stock. Purchased the gun a couple years ago and haven't put a round through it yet. Just yesterday got my Vortex scope. The original stock Savage sells you is for an AR15 not a stock you need for cheek height to get a steady look in the scope. Anyone know where to go for a good stock thats ideal for long range and fits the savage model 10?

Also with my vortex scope. Anyone suggests a good mount? Was looking at the vortex optics pro extended viper cantilever mounts. They sell for about 150$

I have a savage LRP that I put into an Ashbury chassis. Jury is still out on that.
it was in a savage stealth chassis that I put my mdl 10 into.
the HS Precision that came with the LRP now holds a plain Cabelas special mdl 12 heavy bbl.
i also have a mdl 116 bear hunter that is still in the factory AccuStock.
lots of options. Depends on what you will do with it.
my favorites are the HS Precision and the Stealth chassis by MDT.
i will say the MDT with PMags cycles best of all options I have.

If you don’t want to break the bank take a look at the Oryx chassis, easy to get behind. If you go this route you might want to grab the extra LOP spacers they sell, I ended up adding 2 spacers and the stock fits perfect.

Are you looking for an AR 15 buttstock? Luth AR MBA 3 and XLR are my go to. People like the Magpul, but I have never seen it.

Don't need a cantilever for a bolt rifle, unless some goofy eye relief thing is going. I personally love ARC M 10 rings. The Vortex or Seekins precision rings are nice. I've also ran NF ultralight rings just the same.

I startd with a Savage 10 FCP-SR a few years ago...it came with a plastic stock that was OK (AccuStock?) but needs a riser on the comb to get yer eye up to scope level. Mine now lives in an MDT LSS-XLGen2 chassis with an XLR Extreme buttstock.

You can buy a Bear Creek adjustable riser for a better cheek height and put it on the original stock.

I have my original stock and bottom metal around here somewhere and will make ya a deal if ya want it...and an original magazine.

Just bought a hs precision for my model 10 . Haven't shot it yet but has adjustable LOP and Cheek riser.
I toured there facility in October. Pretty impressive place. Good people. Build everything right there that goes into their guns.

I have the savage saber chassis. It came with a folding buttstock. I added the cheek riser from Magpul. I run the mdt magazines and made a 249.00 FV from Cabelas into a sub half minute rifle with factory Hornady 120 amax, 140 eld and 147 eld. These are the only factory loads I've shot with the chassis. My handload running the 147's is 2780 and so far my best group at distance was 3/4" at 480 for 5 shots. Below is 10 shots at 200yds with the 120 amax a nickel is under my finger for reference.

Trying to be a smart ass?
I own or have owned and shot rifles with the brands that I listed. If you like the MDT great, I know nothing about them because I don't use one nor know anyone that does.
If you had tried to get on their site for black Friday you would have gotten the joke. No offense. I have 2 mdt chassis and like most others, they have mostly similar features with very good quality control. On my savage though I run the factory Saber from APO. It has the savage stamps so I can run it in production class

I used an MDT LSS XL Savage SA Right Hand, with the SRS V5 stock and folding adapter for my Savage 10 6.5CM. LOVE IT!
