Haven't posted in a while. Just got back into shooting and would like to eventually enter F-Open competition. Been hearing about the out-of-the-box accuracy of the Savage rifles, so I ordered one. Came back from the range after trying a bunch of different factory ammo (Federal Gold, HSM Match, Black Hills, Hornady, etc.) in different bullet weights from 168 to 208.

Specs:
Savage 110 long action target port receiver (I think same as the 110BA)
26" SS heavy (1") 1:10 barrel, fluted, Savage factory muzzle brake
H-S Precision stock
Leupold 16x Mark 4 scope

I have to say I'm very happy with .419 MOA out of a factory rifle shooting factory ammo... Can't wait to reload. I'll eventually get a Krieger barrel, but until then I'll enjoy shooting this one out.

Yes, ordered through their custom shop (Effie). Their customization is a mix-n-match of components they have for other rifles, so no particular gunsmithing on top of their production rifles. Started with a 110 FCP HS Precision, replaced the action with a target port long action (for added stiffness), and got the 26" fluted barrel in 1" diameter with their muzzle brake chambered in 30-06 (nice balance between .308 and .338 and can find reloading components/ammo everywhere). That's about it. I mounted and bedded the 20 MOA Murphy Precision rail as well as the bipod rail.
