Savage Impulse bottom metal?

So I bought a impulse hog hunter off of gunbroker. I really only want the action. I'm gonna turn it into a 22 creed thermal gun. I found out that the "Hog hunter" version uses some proprietary mag and doesn't use AICS pattern like the impulse predator. Are ya kidding me? What "hog hunter" wants a 4 round mag? Anyway, my question is this: can you get "impulse predator" bottom metal? Or what should I do?

Building a rifle that uses a proprietary mag in 2025 is a very silly thing to do.

Called Savage hit the button to "order parts". They will not sell a single part for the impulse. Can not, will not, just plain impossible. The reason I got is that it's a new rifle. Been out what, 4 years? What a bunch of savages.

Sadly, I'm not surprised. I ran into the same thing when I wanted to buy an extra barrel extension and recoil lug for my Impulse, which would give it 'switch barrel' capabilities. Maybe that's something they never intended, but it would make the whole platform a lot more interesting.

To be fair, their Predator model, which is what I have, does use AICS mags. Why the "Hog Hunter" does not, I don't know. Probably because it's offered in 30-06 and 300 Win Mag, which wouldn't work. Still seems like a poor choice.

If you did your homework you would've known the Impulse predator and Elite are the only impulse models that use AICS magazines.
Savage shouldn't be blamed for your poor reading comprehension.
All rifle manufacturers use proprietary magazines.
Return the Hog hunter and buy a Predator model, problem solved.
Savage did drop the ball on having parts available for extra barrel swaps.

You're attacking him for not being able to modify his rifle because savage doesn't have any aftermarket support for this rifle.

I'm not defending him, I'm just letting you know that if you want to be an asshole, you won't be alone..

Sweet man, I'm glad you do your research. Let's just imagine you already owned a savage impact predator, (which the op does), and it has an aics magazine, so you see a deal on the hog hunter, which is identical in every way except the name, barrel length, and for absolutely no logical reason, for no reason anyone can explain, they have a different bottom metal and proprietary mags???? That sounds like something that would catch most of us off guard, but not you I guess. You're so sure that you wouldn't make that mistake that you decided to open the discussion by insulting the OP. That's some fucking hubris.

You might be mixing a few things here. I don't believe the OP has an Impulse Predator. I commented that I do.
I'll say that I don't think there's any reason for a pissing match here.

So anyhow... @shoots100 how hard would it be for your machinist buddy to copy the Predator bottom metal? There may be a market for it.
