Well after months of saving, waiting and saving some more, I finally got my Savage ready to shoot. I would like to thank the many members on this forum for your assistance, suggestions, and even some ball-busting

Without your help, the process would not have been so smooth. A special thanks to CSTACTICAL, jasonk, TresMon, Mike Vegas and springer01 for the xtra help. jasonk went out of his way to lend me some guidance at a much needed time. Again guys, I can't thank you enough

Re: Savage is finally ready to go!

Very nice rifle. I'm in the process of getting a Savage .223 together right now. Hopefully my rifle gets in soon and I can go out and shoot it. Would like to see a range report after you get to the range. I have that scope but second focal place, tps rings, and an egw base. Then I'll upgrade the stock with a manners stock(most likely) once I get enough funds put together.

I'm pretty impressed with the Manners stock also. The Bell Carlson, not so much. I want to get some trigger time before I spend that much extra cash on a aftermarket stock! Post some pics when she gets put together.

Yeah, The Manners stocks are looking quite nice, but right now the price tag seems a bit high considering my money situation. So when I get my rifle i'll probably need to buy a cheap aftermarket stock so I don't need to deal with the factory stock until I can come up with enough money for a manners.

I was able to get it bore sited today, but was not able to put many rounds down range. My work schedule is more f_cked up than a soup sandwich! As soon as I can get a good range report and some photos of the groupings, I will post them.

I didnt realize any of my co workers were into Savage's. LOL, I can definitely feel your pain with a jacked up schedule. I would love to have more free time to get out. Great looking rifle and I will be looking forward to the range report and how you like the scope as well.
