Just got my new LRP, and only had one range session so far. Trying to develop a load for it. Anyone using one of these? Mine is in .260 remington, with a Warne 20moa steel base and Burris extreme tac rings. I currently have a Bushnell 3200 elite 10x40 mildot on it but plan to replace it with something better in the future. I am just looking to see if anyone is using one and what they have found for loads or what set-up is working for them. Currently I have some Berger 140gr VLDs and Win 7mm-08 brass. I am trying Varget and H4350 for powder and Federal match primers.

Re: Savage LRP

well on the bright side you picked an easy one. I would bet lots of money somewhere between 41.5-43grains of h4350 and you will be money. it may take some seating depth tweaking but thats it. every 260 i have ever owned loved between 42-42.5 pretty easy cartridge to load for.

Re: Savage LRP

Thanks, in the one range session so far it was 40.5gr that did the best. Have not gotten a chrono yet so I am hoping to chrono that load next week.

Savage LRP review

Here is a review i did on my same rifle a few weeks back.

I settled on 41.0 grns of H4350
140 berger VLD hunting
Lapua 260 brass
Fed210m primer
2.920 COL (0.01 into lands on my chamber)

the 140 AMAX shot well too, my rifle didnt seem as consistent with the 139 scenars, could have been me though.
