Thinking about a 22LR trainer now that Manners is offering the T4...it'd be nice to have an Accutrigger rimfire to match my Accutrigger 223 & 260.

Nobody local to me seems to have these in stock so I'll probably buy from Bud's; the -SR is $82 more than the plain jane FV.

So, help me make the decision: the longer barreled FV and buy $82 worth of ammo, or the -SR for the shorter, fluted, threaded barrel and oversized bolt knob?

Depending on what your planning on putting on the muzzle would help your decision. I just picked up a FV yesterday and plan on running a SilencerCo Sparrow on mine. The Sparrow has a different thread pattern

There is a non threaded part on the front for .159" for the o ring to set on. I went with the FV and am going to have it threaded to the correct specs of my can, rather than using an adapter. The adapters from SilencerCo have a smaller OD than what the OD of your barrel will be.

Personally, I'd say FV and Tacticool, but then the fluted, threaded, shorter barrel and over-sized bolt-knob aren't important to me and they are to some people. I find that the 20.5" barrel is very manageable and balances very well even in the tupperware stock. Guess it boils down to personal preference. I doubt there is much performance advantage one over the other, but the 20.5 will give you slightly higher MV's, for whatever that's worth. I'm in the process of trying to find a bulk ammo that shoots reasonably well and stays sub-sonic from my rifle. This is one place where a shorter barrel would be nice.

Remington subsonic hps do really well in my Savage ...

In the last week Bud's dropped the price of the Mark II FV-SR to $197...just placed my order.

Now the REAL question...Gemtech Outback II or Huntertown Guardian?
