Savage Mark II scope mount problem

Re: Savage Mark II scope mount problem

again, egw on mine, that rimfire tech one has a nice look to it though. either way there are two of them that will get you out to 200+ yards and give you some more height for larger obj lenses. if you have 42mm or below, low rings will work fine with those bases. 44mm and the low rings is 50/50.

Yeah, same here. About 3 mils or 10.8 moa, easy adjustment for any optic...

Re: Savage Mark II scope mount problem

just saying the moa base is extra insurance in case the scope one has looses adjustment or they prefer not to hold over.

i like the idea of throwing 40.00 at it first then set up the optic, rather than having an OH crap moment and have to tear down and set up the optic again.

From the Savage web site FAQ:

The scope bases that fit on our Savage and Stevens rimfires are Weaver #16 and 24. You can check with your local dealer for availability. Savage customer service also has a set of bases available if you can not locate them in a shop near you.

Another issue is scope elevation adjustment range. I use the Tasco VAR624X42M, which has around 75MOA of elevation adjustment, all the requisite bells and whistles, and retails at around $80.

If you want to add some mounting base slope, you can get Burris Signature Zee rings, which allow customized slope enhancement (and windage centering).

+1 on the EGW 20 moa base. While you're there pickup on for a 10/22 also. Eventually you're gonna need it.
