Yea I definitely agree the cz is a better rifle... I won the savage in a raffle so with a added chassis and a few other upgrades it was a good entry level gun for my boy to start nrl22 with but it is getting upgraded very soon. But it’s served him well for what it is.
Do you have a link to the write up you did? Would like to give it a read.
The only way I can find it is by searching my own name. Here it is again.
CZ 457 MTR .... It is more of a warning than review. I am really happy with the inexpensive kit. Normally I lapp my triggers to a mirror finish, ( My RPRR is shown ) but I don't think the MTR will need any more work. The shape of the trigger blade makes the trigger feel like my two Anschutz carbines.
I just installed my YoDave trigger spring for my CZ 457 MTR..... The factory trigger was turned down to 15 oz. The new spring brought it down to 9 oz.
The CZ has a nicely shaped trigger blade and the trigger feels more like 6 oz. That is much more to my liking. ***The trigger pin is press fit into the trigger blade and is difficult to get out. *** To put it back in, I actually took a couple thousandths off it's diameter as I was not willing to risk damaging the housing. To turn down the pin, I just chucked it up in a drill and sanded it down and then flipped it to the other end. Nothing fancy. Please note that the 457 trigger looks different than the 455.
I then used some fingernail polish to retain the pin in place. I could have staked it but, I may have it out several times to lap the sear surfaces.
I highly recommend you make the pin a slip fit in the trigger blade. It is so tight that it bent my brass pin punch and was starting to bend my steel punch.
It is scary tight. I bounced the gun on the butt a few times and the trigger did not go off.
