I picked up a MKII FV-SR last week and was originally having problems inserting the magazine. Well I was able to bend the tabs on the magazine that were catching to insert it without a problem. Now I'm noticing that when I cycle the bolt it shaves just a little bit off the next round. I've tried bending the tabs to keep the next round low enough so it won't shave it but haven't had any luck. Anyone else having this problem? If your not, can you take a pic of your magazine top so I can see how far up the follower comes on the mag. Thanks ahead of time.

I don't have that problem. The front of my 5 round magazines shaves off a hair from one round. I'm not sure which one, but it doesn't affect accuracy, so I'm not worried.

was this a gallery of guns purchase? they have a lifetime replacement warranty which is why i prefer to use them. They may be a bit more money but the warranty is worth it IMO

do you mind showing how much of a radius you put on your bolt? my bolt already had a minor 45 degree bevel(?) do you just carry this bevel deeper and with a smoother transition? what about using a de-burring tool on the leading edge of the chamber?
thank you for your time.

I called savage today, finally. I was told that my L-Spring was holding the magazine to high and would be sent a new one. Hopefully that'll be the fix I'll updated on here when I get the part in and see if it does anything

just because your rifle was purchased at a local gun store doesnt mean it doesnt have the lifetime warranty from them. the parent company is Davidsons and they sell to FFL holders. if the spring doesnt fix it, call Davidons to have them run the serial number to see if it went through them.

Let us know how it turns out. Savage makes a great barrel, a decent trigger...and that's pretty much where they stop being impressive. I love my M2-FV, but they aren't much to look at and feel cheap compared to CZ.
