Savage MkII

Re: Savage MkII

I noticed that the one at Bud's for $181 doesnt seem to be a MKII, or atleast the magazine setup is different... ?

This MKII is only $174 and looks to have a medium weight barrel. Perfect to start a build; replace stock, add EGW base, rings, and glass. With these tasco scopes that seem popular in this thread that means you could build a nice gun for under $500!

ETA: nevermind the $174 one does not have the heavy barrel, the HB model is $239.

$350 seems fair from looking at Bud's who usually has pretty good prices. They have the BTV stainless for $366 or the blued for $294 on the prev pg.

Re: Savage MkII

I bought my BTVS from Bud's as they were about the cheapest that I could readily find. I suppose I could have looked around for a few months, try to snag one on an auction site, etc. but I run short on patience and just called up Bud's - and was tossing lead with it a few days later.

Re: Savage MkII

I usually pay my FFL $25 to have a firearm transfered through him. Most of the time I get something all he has to do is the paperwork on it and put it on his "books." That seems like it has worked out pretty good for me so far and for him too.
