Went to order a stock from McMillan and was asked the contour of my rifle...not ganna lie, felt like an idiot because I completely blanked on what it was.

Savage Model 10 with the very basic factory stock, stagger-feed (if that matters), in .308.

There are two stamps near the barrel nut. One reads "A5" and the other looks like it is "SP5"

The woman at McMillan said she would list the stock as a Sporter contour until I called back to verify - from what I've read, it sounds like the barrel is a Heavy contour.

Looking to make sure I have the specific/correct contour

Thanks

Re: Savage Model 10 Barrel Contour

Savage Varmint taper 1.065" dia. shank for 2.5" st. taper to .790" at 28"
My 24" 10fp barrel was about .845 at the muzzle. This is a varmint contour and the stock I received from McMillan was inletted perfectly for my barrel.
If it significantly smaller I would say sporter.
