I have the opportunity to pick up a savage model 11 barreled action pretty cheap. It is basically brand new. my question is I know that the model 11 is a s/a and the 111 is a long action. But what is different about the 11 over the 10? is is just the accutrigger? I am just interested in it for a future build. it is currently chambered in 243. I would just sell everything besides the action.

Can’t say I’ve seen an 11 with top bolt release.

My 11 had the regular accu trigger that with the addition of the target spring was really pretty decent.

Besides some minor issues my model 11 was a reliable action that didn’t limit accuracy.

Savage 10/11/12 actions are the same, their numbering system refereed to what was attached to the action.

10 - Heavy Barrel/Target
11 - Sporter
12 - Varmint

They have differences in shank size, bolt release, trigger, bolt handles, etc between all of them, but the actual actions were the same. Savage, continuing their long history of fucking up their identification system, has now pushed towards 3 digit IDs for SA and LA. So a new 110 can be a short action 223, 6.5 CM, 308 or long action 338 Lapua.
