savage predator group isue in 6.5 creadmoor

A friend of mine just bought a savage predator in 6.5 creadmore. I am already confused because there are no lands to set depth off of. There is a smooth ring you can get up against but no lands. We started with 42.5 grn of 4350 and worked up to 43 grn.
.75 is the best we could get for a group but all three groups would be in the same hole except for one flyer. Can anyone tell me what I'm doin wrong with this or do I just need to keep looking for the right load? I'm seated out at 2.875. Its about ten thousands off the ring IE. lands. Have any of you done any load development in one of these rifles? Oh yea I'm shootin 130 vld.

Yea but I have never owned nor seen one of the better built savage rifles not shoot. 25 or better and why the flyer?

Shoot it at 300 & 600 then report back with the findings.

Shoot it off a sturdy rest and also let someone else try. Just for a second opinion. Just trying to rule out the nut behind the gun. Also, have u tried factory ammo?

All in the same hole and a flyer. The flyer sounds like shooter error. Its pretty common.

As a control, you may want to shoot some groups with the factory Hornady 120 and 140 A-MAX loads, they are supposed to be super accurate.

Ill try it out at 300 and 600 but I'm pretty positive I didn't pull any of my shots. I know its not impossible but you generally know when you pull one I have been shooting. My rifle a lot here lately and I always practice flinch control and don't seem to be having any trouble there at the moment. I don't have trouble putting them in the same hole with my rifles. Besides I have to drive about two hours to getting a buddy that shoots matches and would be a good enough shot to put in there where they are supposed to go. Also I did not try any factory ammo its against my religion. Just kidding but I have always been able to work up a load that shot better than factory. Does anyone know what is up with the lands on these rifles?

Oh BTW WE did put it on steel at 600 but my target needs fresh paint. He could hit well enough at that range but. 75 just don't seem good enough. I have heard that sometimes VLDs won't wake up till about 300 yards but my rifle stacks them just fine at 100. But its a Beenland built 6.5x47.
