Thanks. They are both mine. The 308 has a much better scope on her. Haven't decided what to put on the 300 win mag, was shooting it today with a SFP leupold.

I agree, AI chassis is the way to go.

It's a QD can mount as well. Only adds 1.5" to the length, the remainder slides over the barrel.

Gotcha, I have seen some surefire qd brakes and have been curious why they are so long, say in comparison to the aac ratchet mounts. 1.5" isn't that long but when you can go with a shorter barrel and not lose performance, I am curious why you would go with a longer brake/mount. If its just the way the surefire mount and can work, then that is simple enough. I don't have much experience with surefire cans (obviously).

I got the brakes put on for 2 reasons, one to decrease recoil, but mainly to use my Surefire SS can with, whenever the ATF lets me have it! The recoil with the 300 win mag is surprisingly mild.
