SBR buffer system

I have an 11.5 in DD with the standard H buffer and spring. The ejection patter is right at the 3 o'clock position which I am satisfied with. Those of you with an SBR do you have a heavier buffer or system in place such as the A5 and how does that work for you?

It costs more money, but I used the JP silent buffer system. You can remove or add weights that come with it to time the rifle if needed but I find the standard configuration out of the box works just fine for my 10.3 MK18 upper.

I use a Wolf heavy spring and an H3 in my 7.5”

Couple of SBRs & pistols... standard buffer spring and H2 buffer, functions and ejections perferctly

I use whatever the chart says. There are charts out there that recommend x buffer for y AR and they differentiate by barrel length, caliber and length of gas system. If I need to I'll tweak it from there but I've never had to.

Usually some kind of H buffer, maybe an H2. Don't think I have anything heavier. I keep Wolff springs around for replacements but can't say as I've ever actually had to swap a spring unless it was shot.

My secret to reliability is the use of the JP Ent. full mass carrier, slick and they WORK. It's all I use now. Costly but SO worth it. Everything else is mostly milspec/KAC type stuff with a good barrel.

I went with the KAK configurable buffer and Tubbs flatwire spring for my SBR. Not as snazzy as the JP SCS, but it was quite a bit cheaper and still gives me 8 different buffer weight options. Especially helpful since I'm running multiple uppers.

My only SBR has a Colt 6920 barrel cut to 10.3” with a .070” gas port and a SureFire 556RC.
I originally ran it with an H3 buffer and standard Colt spring before replacing them with the VLTOR A5 system.
The gun was reliable with the H3 setup, but the A5 made a noticeable difference in making the gun run smoothly.
IMHO, it’s the only way to go on an SBR.
