Feedback Scammer Alert - The Sheep Dog

I’m still confused as to why anyone would post in a for sale thread instead of just PMing the seller?? The seller will get a PM flag just like they do when someone posts in their for sale thread, except the scammers don’t know who to scam. There’s threads on here every week mentioning this same scammer nonsense and yet people are still posting in threads asking to get scammed! I guess people just like getting scam attempts?

The worst is when scammers hack accounts. High feedback, established users, and legit photos.

FaceTime, G&S, and pay with a CC. I would prefer if the buyer insists on timestamp images or a call, it’s not a nuisance at all.

DoD ID should be mandatory from now on lol.

I do. Then I report them.

Kinda fun.

Years back this scammer shit was a rarity, I bought and sold dozens of times on forum with no issues. Now it’s gotten almost routine. Good communications and transparency are the only things keeping you from being taken. Sucks that this is now the new normal.

Indeed, think we’ve done business on 1911 addicts in the past

Same guy here. After I said pm in bound. I received this message. But I had already sent my info to original seller. Smelled fishy because it was not the same message thread I started with seller and asked if he could respond to my original message, which he could not. Seller confirmed with me it was a scam. Original seller GTG… We all need to be very vigilant with these transaction. The Hide is an awesome platform for our shooting community, but also easy to prey on complacent buyers.

Frank and the mods say stop posting in the adds I’ll take it and PM inbound but everyone keeps doing it. I keep trying to get them to get where only the OP can post anything in their PX add.

This is very much (at least to me) a chatgtp assembled sentence. The syntax and phraseology are too classic and no one under 70 types like that anymore.

I had "The Sheep King" message me today after posting a WTB ad for a 6arc Origin prefit barrel. It was suspect so I google image searched the pictures he sent. The pics had been posted by another member here years ago. I reported and he is gone.

Well, Frank has stated numerous times that WTB ads are essentially giant bat signals for criminal fraud gangs.

Some members with good feedback, get bend out of shape when I ask for special photo. For some reason their brain cells doesn't rub together properly.

At this point with the scammers, I am going to pass on everything that doesn’t provide legit timestamps and a call.

If all follow, scammers will have no power. They can’t fake authenticity. As well as insurance like G&S can provide.

Last time some stupid tire kicker did that I had to run around and get items and make a special photo for them and it wasted an hour of my time.
It's also pointless.

The actual way to do things is just simply ask for a quick video chat with the item and the seller.
Much easier, less time and a lot harder to fake.

This. The faster we adopt this approach collectively the better.

Just did this method last night ironically with a well established member with high feedback.
