New here to this forum. Have picked up the bug for long range shooting. Will start with this SCAR17 but am looking to build an R700/.308 from the ground up.

How does it shoot? I have the same gun, but am waiting for my scope mount to show up before I can ring mine out.

Looks heavy. How much does that rig weigh?

I haven't weighed it, but I'd guess in the 7-8 lb range. Its mostly a bench shooter and I'm old school used to shooting '03s and the M1 so it doesn't "seem" heavy to me.

Just weighed it.....12lbs with empty mag and sling

That's not too bad. Far better than it looks with the bi-pod, large scope and handle grip.

Thanks! I like the Black extras. Kinda sets it off. I had a friend that equated these to "Barbies for Men!" LOL
