Sup everyone, time to beat a dead horse here. Ive seen some info floating around regarding these 2 optics but figured id pick your brains anyways.

the rifle- scar 20
POU mid - long range target/hunting application and use with a Nightvision clip on

Torn between the NX8 2.5-20 mil xt and Mk5 3.5 -18 h59

the mk5 would not have illumination which would be preferred but not a necessity ( rarely use it with the clip on now)

any input into these considerations such as reticle or anything i missed would be helpful.

thanks

We'd be happy to go over the Pros and Cons of both options, please give us a call at 916-670-1103 :)

I'm gonna have to go with the Mark 5 on that as well. The reticle on the 2.5-20 nightforce isn't as clear on the lower powers and I've gotten great results out of that 3.6-18. Really gorgeous optic!

I have the NX8 and it’s a finicky scope with the eye box/eye relief. I have no issues on low power clarity like the guy above said. I had a mk5 and it was very nice as well. No complains at all with it.

Here's my MK20 with Mk5 7-35 T3. NX8 4-32 is on my short list to try out.

Not what I wanted to hear

let me back track. It’s not bad, but it is noticeable. Nothing to avoid the scope over. Honestly my ONLY complaint is that it’s such a short scope in the front, I was having the most trouble with the night force .885” low rings. I couldn’t get the eye relief where I wanted which was causing me issues. The scope would get into my rail on my Tikka so quick because it’s so short in the front that I couldn’t get comfy. I felt way too far forward on the stock. Now that I have a Nightforce Unimount on it, it’s awesome. I think it’s 1.18” and it’s a good bit off the barrel, but Im comfy now. You wouldn’t have that issue on a gas gun though I wouldn’t imagine. I should have re worded what I said earlier. A store on here had them for a steal the other day because they over stocked. I think he had the 2.5-20 for $1600 something. Sorry about this book I wrote I just wanted to clarify what I meant

I’m wanting the 4-32 but I’ve been worried about that he eye box and such

I ended up going with the nx8 2-20, i ended up getting a decent price on it and it was cheaper then the mk5 without illumination. Figured id give it a shot. Now im deciding on rings. Usually go arc m10 but am contemplating the ADM delta
