SCAR 20S first range session

Just got my SCAR 20S this week so today I went out for first range session. Just sighted in the rifle and want see how accurate this rifle is. I am using whatever ammo I got left. Some freedom munition 150gr reman, 178gr Amax. Malaysian surplus and FGMM 168gr. Here are some result:

I ran surefire muzzle brake on the rifle and I think it definitely helping on the recoil a lot. Overall feels very soft shooting and I like this rifle a lot!
Next time I will probably try reach out further. This afternoon is just getting a little bit too hot for me.

Try some Federal Gold Medal Match 175 grain. Mine loves it. Nice rifle you have!

Don’t have to 20s but my 17s also likes the 175

also, make sure the barrel screws are torqued to spec. some new owners did not find them all tight.
mine likes fgmm in 168gr or 175gr. any brand using the same SMK bullets will be decent.
for cheaper plinking, priv partizan m80 works well.

Yes that's in my plan. After all the craziness of guns and ammo clams down a little bit.

The first thing I got the rifle was took off the barrel to replace the muzzle device. So I made sure all screws are tighten to 62in/lb. I even checked 2 screws from the end plate to stock. Watched a video online said they are loose and for mine, they are indeed loose. I also checked all the screws when I got back from first range session and everything seems looking good.

Handled one at my LGS last weekend. 20s, in FDE. Beautiful piece of machinery. Not quite what I expected, but the FFL said customer just paid 4200 for the weapon system. Then he showed me the scope the fella bought........ a 5-25 Strike Eagle...... I like vortex, and own a few, but I wouldve gone to Razor territory for the Scar

Mine has left me totally impressed. Fantastic trigger and I've been able to sneak it into the .5s on occasion with Mk316 ammo. Most groups hover around .7s
Best group to date below was off the bench at 200m

Screws are not a big deal I feel like. The whole gun is well machined. The accuracy is good as well as the feeling of recoil. The rifle is smooth...

Only compliant about Razor is too heavy. I run mk5 with my rifle and I think they have 15oz weight difference.

I was only comparing within the manufacturer. Knowing the LGS carries them. I, also, wouldve chosen a different optic. Weight not necessarily being the major concern.

My factory 13” scar 17 likes 150 grain hornady super performance SST. One ragged hole at 100 yards.

I’ve used it and interloc for hunting the past three years.

ETA I’ve tried everything up to the 178 grain ELD-X, the 150 grain is the sweet spot, with 168 grain FGMM a close 2nd. YMMV

understand. I think within vortex, at least I would go with the viper pst gen 2 line if I am really on the budget.

SCAR barrel is 1:12 twist rate, I read it somewhere it will prefer the lower gr bullets. I don't have any match ammo that is 150 or 155, the 168gr fgmm is the best result I got so far. The whole system is deferentially more accuracy then me for sure at this point.
