Rifle Scopes SCAR 20S QD Mounts?

Been looking for a 20S QD mount? I see there is now a Larue with 20MOA cant and ADM makes the Recon in 20MOA. Anyone used any of these or have any recommendations these days? I need one with 34MM Rings.

Been out of the PR game for about 10 years so pretty rusty.

The ADM Recon mount is available in 34mm. I’m using one to mount an ATACR 1-8 on my 17S.
Mine is 0 MOA, but they offer a 34mm Mount in 20 MOA as well.

As far as I’m concerned, it is the best QD mount for the SCAR platform.

That said, if QD capability isn’t a priority for you, the Geissele Mount is excellent.

Thanks! I was looking at the Delta but if I can get away with the RECON I may do that due to weight. I was worried the RECON might be for 556 not 762 seeing as it seemed lighter.

Do these ADM mounts hold zero and stay on rail properly? I have only had Larue in past for QD mounts.

Do the throw levers necessitate putting charging handle on other side, or using aftermarket handle?

No idea on the durability of the mount. We always just used a set of Badger rings on ours. Never heard anything bad about the Delta but I think we never saw them used because of the weight? Not really sure. Just know it was in the issued case with the rifle.

Recon mount is a vertically split ring set. Stay away from it for precision work. Frank has said that vertically split rings are not for precision work for years.

Bobro is the only QB mount worth buying. GDI is a distant second but the price is just not worth it.

Now I could write a book about this but at the end of the day, it will protect your rail with the least amount of user error while having the absolute best RTZ of any QD mount.

The Scar is probably the most important rifle to use a superior mount on. That upper receiver IS your serialized part and getting a replacement one from FN is not only expensive as shit, but a hassle.

ADM works, but requires you to get the adjustment right. Fuck that up and you fucked up your nice $2500 extruded receiver. It also does not have the same RTZ capabilities as Bobro. ADM also has one of the worst RTZs ever tested in QD mounts.

Larue is the absolute worst option. It has an inferior RTZ to ADM & Bobro while requiring a tool that you have to "test" to get it right. Better hope you get it right the first time unless you want lever made of hardened steel gouging your AL receiver.

Now lots of people will come here spouting a bunch of bullshit about how they own something it works, ect. This SCIENCE was settled about 10 years ago via independent testing by both DOD and an independent Lab. There were some tests done by recoil mag back in the day and recoilweb did one a few years ago just on the RTZ measurements. Bobro had about Half the shift of the 2nd best mount they tested.

I'm don't let ANY mount except a Bobro touch my receivers or optics. ADM and Larue and whatever are fine for bipods or other non critical shit that doesn't attach to something that can't be replaced with $20 worth of rail section.

Go with a Badger or NF unimount in whatever flavor of can't you want. Both are proven beyond reproach. Geissele mounts bring nothing to the table that can't be had for a fraction of the price. They are a complete waste of money and I say this as someone with probably close $5K in Geisselle triggers, rails, parts and tools.

I have a SCAR 17S with a Kahles 1-6x scope in an ADM delta mount. After 2000 rounds shot mostly suppressed, I have zero issues with the scope or the mount. For the SCAR, I see no issues with my Delta mount made by ADM, and I think you will be well served by one.

I have run everything under the sun over the last 20 years, going back when ARMS was the only game in town. These are the only QD mounts worth running IMO. Aimpoints, MRO's, Acogs, LPVs, High power scopes from 30-34mm.

Ignorance is bliss and most people don't even begin to understand the pros and cons of each mount system, even here. There is no question or dispute, this is fact.

In the end buy what you want but you should be informed to make the best choice for you.

0.1-0.01 MOA is a big deal for a precision rifle. However, for a 1-6x optic on an assault rifle, is a 0.1 MOA shift that big of a deal?

I think the take home point Primus is on a precision rifle, a non-QD mount is probably the best way to go. If you are running a QD mount, make sure to re-zero the rifle before using it again. That's the take home message based upon the data the article you linked provides.

I like my Bobro Aimpoint mount, but it is awfully bulky. I think you do have a point for a precision rig though, that Bobro was the best for a QD scope mount.

That was just one test. The Army test from years ago had a much bigger disparity. And like I said, there are bigger things than RTZ to consider when choosing a mount. I don't think they are really that bulky and the nice thing about the scar is you can swap the charging handle to the weak side and/or use an angled one. I use a IWC on the strong side and it's fantastic. There is no interference with the mount levers.

Seems the G mount and others are out of stock with any cant that I need. ADM Delta looks like only one that regularly in stock hah.

I did few searches and found quite a few complaints on the Bobro mounts.

Has anyone used any of the Nightforce Unimounts? Can't seem to find much info about them.

Might just get something like a Tier One Monomount if all else fails.

Nightforce unimounts are exceptional and anytime you can go with a solid mount over a QD, you should. There is nothing better than a properly torqued quality mount.

Ya I am not sold on QD. I just used to use them 10 years ago. Can't find much documentation on the NF Uni? Says its Alloy and Ti?

Guess theres a Uni and Mag mount? See theres a 1.4in height and 1.5in. Not sure where they are measuring from? Is it center of rings to top of rail?

How do the NF Uni compare to the Badger single piece mounts? NF looks a little thinner and has Ti hardware?

I purchased the AD a delta in 30 and 34 and found they are very solid and don’t have the vertical clamp rings. They offer updated throwlevers and don’t use the bladed compression like the larue. lowlight has some good information regarding why not to use the vertical clamping ring mounts.

The delta ring spacing may be the only issue as it takes up some tube. Currently using the 30 between two ARs using same scope. The 34 was sold with the scar 20s. Live the AD delta

Im not really into Bobro. I wanted to like them. Issues:

The rings are not concentric like a 1 piece. When I lay my NF scope in the mount and torque to slip fit and rotate the scope, the edge grabs and i can clearly see marks indicating low amount of surface contact/misaligned rings.

2) enough pictures of them broken, by nonbiased people, have made me leery of them. Further, they move each shot. Their secret is returning via that springloaded recoil foot to the same spot. Its held by 2 TINY screws. Its a 48v 4.0 v12 when a 6.2L 2V v8 exists....pretty, but screw that.
