Took my Scar 20 out for the first time.... im almost in disbelief. I was in a hurry to zero so I could get out to the 1,000 yard range so I only had a couple groups as I was getting on target, but my final group was an impressive .35 inch group! I know I know, only 3 shots, I usually do 5, but I only brought a couple boxes of ammo and wanted to get on steel. Group above was a faster fire group to get it on paper, I took my time on the final group. It was uneventful out to 1,000 as I expected it to be, but the targets on our LE range are larger so its nothing to write home about. When I go home to phoenix on my private range, that's a much more difficult time and worth sending videos. Ammo was Magtech 168 gr Match.

They are awesome semi platforms.

I think a five to even ten shot group is a better test of the rifle and/or shooter, but ... nice results. Glad you are happy. For the massive a mount of $$ you sunk into that rig it would be pretty dang disappointing if it did anything less. Well done.

I agree... but as stated, I had limited Ammo and was only dialing the scope in so I could plink on steel.

Just for fun, I took a box of Herter's "Select Grade" 180gr SP to the range two weeks ago, and my SCAR 17S shot a similar group (to my surprise).

I checked Cabela's to see if they still sell this ammo, but the closest I could find is "Herter's Hunting Rifle Ammo." I hope it's the same stuff, because this is about to be my new plinking ammo at $15/box.

Ive always longed for a Scar 17 since back when I was 15-16 years old playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.. and I Still remember the first time to my knowledge that the SCAR 20 SSR was officially publicly confirmed to exist and shown in action: on Larry Vicker's Tac TV with guest star Monty Leclair(you may a heard of em, hint hint Centurion Arms). Leclair was still a SEAL back then as I recall, and he brought the SCAR 20 out for Larry's show, to show off SOCOM's latest and greatest DMR. Mannn it was love at first sight!

ETA: Here we go! Reckon it wasn't its first public appearance after all.. but it was the 1st time I saw/heard of it! So godd@mn cool!!!!

@lowlight - just curious sir.. you aint gotta respond if you feel its inappropriate. I was just curious, whats your opinion of the man? Larry Vickers that is... solid dude? Or a once solid dude who got sidetracked by the TV industry, etc along the way,.. just wanted to hear your opinion of him, if you've met em, as I never known you to not tell it like it is, straight up, 100%.. also @lowlight - thoughts on the SCAR 20 SSR?

GODDANG I WANT ONE!
