Hey man, I saw a situation on here recently where a guy was selling a rifle that was worth far more than what he was asking.... well the vultures jumped on it an he was locked into a deal without knowing the value of what he had.

It pissed me off because no one had the balls to tell the guy what his gun was worth but they were happy to take advantage of him.

Long story short, if your scope is what it appears to be, then it is worth far more than what it’s listed for.

I'll bet he knows what it's worth...he's been around for a while....

Dang, this is pretty exciting.

Here’s the deal: the guy I bought it from didn’t indicate it was anything special. There’s no box or paperwork. I’m assuming by some of the comments it might be something special. Short of calling Schmidt with the serial number, I have no way of knowing. I for sure didn’t want to misrepresent what I was selling either. And since I’ve already listed it with a price, and have several messages of “I’ll take it” via PM and in the post, I can’t in good conscience pull the scope and repost it at a higher price if it is in fact something special.

I’m going to finish my waffles and go to work and sort out timestamps and see who the successful purchased is.

I appreciate all the comments. Thanks guys!

just to put it out there......

I've had a few of these marked scopes in the past and have spoken to Jerry Rucker at Schmidt US to verify the authenticity of the scopes. He was nice enough to give me a history lesson..

These scopes were commissioned through SOCOM in 2006-2007.... however, the Army wasn't allowed to make a direct purchase from Schmidt & Bender Germany, so Premier Reticles was used as the intermediary. The parts were purchased from SB Germany by Premier, assembled here in the US and delivered to Ft. Bragg in 2 waves. The first wave (50 or so prototype scopes) were more than likely given to SFOD and fielded in whatever secret squirrel shit they were up to at the time. Some of the original 50 were marked "M118LR-MK11" on the elevation turret. The smaller objective diameter was desirable so the scopes could be mounted as close to the Mk11 bore as possible. There was a later delivery (150-200 scopes), which resemble the scope offered here for sale.

Obviously some of them ended up in USMC units as evidenced by the photo above. When the scopes were decommissioned they were first offered to former operators at around $1800/ea.

Sorry but if you’re too lazy to research what you’re selling you only have yourself to blame.
