Anybody running one of these Polars or Precision hunter scopes for intermediate range <800 yd hunting/shooting? I like the specs on the 2.5-10x50 illuminated Polar scopes. Trying to figure out options for turrets, but the S&B website isn't clear if their available with either target turrets or capped turrets.

I have a Zenith and Stratos, both great hunting scopes with illumination. The stratos has both adjustable external elevation and windage knobs. The zenith are capped. You can pay more for the polar, if you really need the most light transmission. The stratos is more than bright enough for me. I looked at all of the scopes for months before I purchased, the Precision hunter is basically a classic with a turret, not really special (long, heavy and limited elevation as mentioned above)

Anyway, go to the SB website and download both the catalog and pricelist. You can then decipher all of the codes to determine what you want in a reticle, turrets, clockwise ccw, illumination, moa, cm etc.

Question; say I have a Klassik 3-12x42 - can I send it in to S&B to have an elevation turret installed similar to the 3-12 precision hunter? For this rifle, if I can get to 600 yards with solid repeatable tracking when I twist the turret, that’s all I need...

We can perform the Precision Hunter conversion at the US service center for a cost of $380. The options are twelve MOA or 3.2 mil on the single turn knob. I would also recommend having the fixed parallax reset to 200 meters if you intend to shoot beyond 300.
This will help image clarity and parallax elimination immensely at extended ranges on a preset parallax system.
