I headed out with Darrak one of my guides and buddy of mine David early Thursday morning to go fill feeders and check cameras. It was a great sight to see some heavy rains in west Texas and something to settle that dust all evening long! We stayed the night in Sanderson after watching one of the greatest lighting shows I have ever seen over the Comstock area.
Friday afternoon we met our first group of hunters to take out to the ranch, the oryx hunting was tough! Everyone was a team player and we all had a blast but man talk about some hot weather. Met some great people from across the state and from the NM area. Saturday afternoon the 9th and final scimitar oryx of the weekend was down, all great animals ranging from 34" to 41".
On our way out one of the landowners asked us to help him with his black buck doe and axis doe problem. 2hours later we had 3 black buck does and 2 axis does on the skinning rack. David took his first animal ever which was one of the black buck does at 280 yards.
It was a great weekend!
