Rifle Scopes Scope and rRings for. 338?

Hello, I am new to the forum. I just picked up a ruger percesion chambered in 338.

I am looking at a Leupold HD5 and a vortex viper pst. What do you guys think of these 2 optics for this gun and round.

Also how would you mount it?

To add to this after reading the above sticky. I am looking to mostly be shooting prone and at steel. I am currently look at 600 to 1000 yards.

I’d look at Near Mfg or Era-Tac for your rings/mount.
The scope choice depends on the reticle you’re happy with.

Thanks I'll look check out the rings now. Yeah leaning towards the vortex. They also seem like the best bang for the buck too.

Forgot to mention - the Near Mfg and Era-Tacs are unimounts.
May want to look at Badger Ordnance for separate rings if that’s your fancy.

I've got an RPR in .338 too. I've got an Athlon Cronus with 34mm Burris Signature rings on mine. I've always liked the Signature rings and usually use them.
