scope base and ring for Savage 10 FCP HS Precision

Looking for a 1 piece scope base for a Savage 10 FCP HS Precision.

Looking at this one:

Other than price, can anyone give me a reason not to choose this setup?

Badger is good stuff. I have ran the weaver bases on my last few savage builds. Can't beat em for 35 bucks. Not as strong or well made as badger but I haven't had any issues w em yet

I'm running a Badger rail with the max 50 rings on my Savage .260 right now. Can't find much to complain about, other than that the first rail I got had the recoil lug and didn't fit my target action. So now I have 2 rails and one went on my 7WSM also.

I have a Savage 10 FCP HS Precision. I got Seekins base and rings. They are just as good as any other high end base and rings, but less expensive.

TPS rings are pretty good for mine. A lot less pricey and works for me. You already have a scope for this?

I have been looking at Seekins as well. I've seen some people highly recommend them...the price difference isn't an issue, I just want to make sure I get the best rings and base for under $400

I'm running this exact combo on my Savage 10FCP and Armalite AR-50 and couldn't be happier. Yes, they are on the pricey end...but I like matched steel rings...escpecially when weight isn't an issue.

I have Warne steel tactical bases on all of my Savages. Several of the guys I shoot with use them and we've never had any issues. They run in the $80 to $100 range.

My response to the OP would be to shop around a little. There are a lot if good scopes in the price range that leupy is in.

Badger is what we run on our work rifles. I've seen them get knocked around, beaten, and blown up and stay together.

On my personal rifles I run LaRue and Seekins setups.

So +1 on what Snowballs said, and shop around a bit.

Leupy is already on the rifle...just putting on new base and rings.

I don't see how you could break Seekins rings. I'm not saying Badger aren't good too. I just don't think they could possibly be any better. Glen Seekins is a Hide member and you can talk to him if you have any questions. I called him and asked him questions before getting mine. He's also a really nice guy. Personally I wouldn't trade mine for any rings regardless of price.

I went with a 30moa Farrells mount and Seekins rings on both our Savage Mod 11 260s and couldn't be happier. Very good quality, you can sure see the difference when you buy good stuff.

After seeing, holding, and mounting a set of Seekins rings, I'd probably agree with you. I've just seen first hand the abuse that the Badgers can take.

Either are fine piece of gear that I wouldn't hesitate to take into really shitty situations.
