I’m putting together a 22 rimfire will be using a Vudoo action with DI precision barrel. Mounted to a MPA matrix pro chassis. I’m not doing any type of competition shooting but looking to get out there 300 yds or so. That are you guys using for a scope.

You can pick up a "like new demo" Zeiss S3 6-36x56 for just under $2k. Parallax goes super low (10m) which would be nice for rimfire. I recently picked one up for my 6arc build. I keep fighting the urge to splurge and replace the Strike Eagle (which I don't hate at all) on my T1x build.

I’m using a MK5 5x25 on my Vudoo. Mainly because that’s what I use on my two 6GT’s. Price is right. I am sure there are better, but not in my budget. The Vudoo only came my way because I had a windfall last year. Brenda’s happy with her Vortex on her RPRR, but I would love to try a MK 4 just to see how it works.

Ok I’m going to make a short story long.
Back in November of last year I ordered vortex Razor 6-36x 56 gen 3 for a MPA Matrix Pro 2 with 6.5 creedmore barrel from a well known online vender. It never came. Seemed to be lost somewhere. So I ordered another one from a different vender and had it in a couple days. I called my CC company to try and get my money back. Finally after another 2.5 months I got my refund. Two weeks after that I get the mailman knocking on my door. He has a badly beat up box that was all taped up. Mailman asked it I wanted to accept it. I said I don’t know what it is and I would be willing to open it up He said ok and when I opened it there was the vortex. The vortex box in side was in mint shape. Now I’m waiting for the vender to call me to send it back.
So after posting this thread, most posters are recommending scopes in the 2k+- So maybe it’s a good idea to keep it for my Vudoo. That will also give me my CF and rimfire with the same scope. Yea? NA?

Here's some food for thought...

Does the reticle in the vortex razor 6-36 work for you?

- Do you want to learn how to use 2 different reticles on 2 different rifles?

- I have a leupold 5hd tremor 3, a leupold 4hd pr2-mil, and a zeis s3 4-25x50 MRi...sometimes I screw up the subtension in the different reticles... My preference would be to have similar reticles. I like .2mil subtensions.

Do you have enough elevation for the distance your working with?
a zeis s3 4-25x50 has 46.5 MRAD for travel which is pretty awesome when it comes to distances and elevation for a .22.

May not be an issue if you have some elevation built in to your mount/rail.

Do you ever need to focus the parallax at 50' for maybe indoors?
The scope that works for me indoors at 50' is the S3.

My vudoo360 26" mueller w/a tuner From DI Precision is sitting on a MPA chassis w/a 30moa base and a s3 4-25x50.
We shoot 50' precision indoor ... and 3/400 yards outdoor...

I follow the camp save money for ammo and shoot more...
I save where I can
For me the s3 works out great for the $$$ You can get them for $1850 ish with caps/sunshade...

Good Luck!

$800 Bushnell Match Pro ED. Area 419 20 MOA 1 piece mount. Shooters Global Pulse level.

**** Spend all the rest on quality ammo and enjoy the sport. Adventure out to your local PRS Rimfire or NRL22 Club match. You will see how much fun it is and want to join in. But if I am reading between the lines here you are looking into Long Gong. You can enjoy that as well but you need some of the most consistent ammo you can test. Start buying Eley Match, Eley Team and TenX test lot bricks. Buy the ammo with the best number and corresponding groups. First test is 50y, 100y, 200y & 300y. If you have multiple lots with very close numbers ( 3-4 SD & 12-14 ES ) choose the lot that has the roundest groups at distance.

Info you did not ask for but is much needed in reaching to 300y consistently.
