Getting back into the .22 thing with a CZ 457 and not sure which way to go with the optic.
This is going to be a range/plinking rifle with no competition shooting anticipated. Not decided on the power, but the rimfire scopes 3-9 seem a little anemic. Maybe I don't need more for 100 yards. I would just like to have useable magnification, and would prefer the parallax to be adjustable and not be set at 50 yards. The adjustment can be in the form of a side focus or AO, it really doesn't matter that much, but given a choice, I prefer side focus.
I would like to stay around the $200-250 price point because in reality, this gun will probably not see a lot of range time unless I happen to develop an interest in NLR22.
Suggestions, guys?

I have used more than a few rimfire scopes. All are lacking. I even own a Leupold Rimfire in 2-7 power. It was also lacking. A full 1" scope is soo much better.

we just put a sightron s3 10x50x60 30mm from one 22 to my cz 457 and It works pretty good If I wanted to keep it there I would have to get lower rings but other wise its nice am going to try a arkin 6x24x50 34mm just to try it if i like it it will stay or go on the ar .

I have the Athlon Talos 4-14 on my Ruger 10/22 and I am very happy/impressed with it so far. (The magnification ring is stiff as hell though)

A lot of guys are running the Diamondback tactical on a NRL22 setup. FFP, mil or moa reticle and turrets, and side focus. The 4-16 is in the higher side of your budget but can be found for about $300.

Also, are you MIL/LEO? Both Athlon and Vortex have discounts available. I think Leupold does as well, but their lower end stuff in your budget don't really have the features you need for NRL22. I'm sure there are other brands as well.

I'm looking for something around the same price as you (maybe $100-$200 more). The used market is pretty great in the $400-$500 range. A Sig Tang4 4-16, Athlon Midas TAC 4-16, Athlon Ares BTR (gen 1), Vortex Viper PST Gen 1 4-16, SWFA SS 3-15 can all be had for around $500 or less. Great options for NRL22, I would think.

Argos as it’s on sale

But I remember thinking that my Taos btr was better than a buddy’s Argos btr a few years ago but I dont remember specifics of why. So maybe if you don’t want high mag consider it.

Have a Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 on my 10/22 and couldn't be happier. At $340 it's a bit out of your price range, but well worth it. You might consider a 6-24x50 Vortex Strike Eagle, I have one on an AR and it's no slouch. Euro Optics is closing them out for $299.

Weaver Classic Variable 4-16x or 6-24x would be my pick! Japanese and awesome for the money

Keep your eyes peeled for a 3-15 vortex razor HD LH. Awesome scope that can be had for around $500 on the used market.

I’ve got a Bushnell Nitro 4-16 coming in from Cameraland today. It was $270 shipped. I picked it over the Argos because of the FOV for my daughter to squirrel hunt with. Never messed with the low end Bushnell stuff so we’ll see when it arrives

The LH is their high end hunting scope, and not a direct competitor to the Gen 2 Razor long range models. It has the same excellent glass with a 1 inch tube and side parallax. Reticle options are limited though, and lacks illumination. It is very light.

Have you received it yet? I'm bout to order one for an AR build and am curious on real people reviews.

I got the scope in, build wise it felt good for the price. My coworkers that deer hunt with $150 scopes all thought it was real nice. It is definitely a set zero and no dialing scope. The clicks would be too soft to keep track of. Which goes with the reticle.

Couldn’t get it setup on my daughters 22, need different rings. Put it on my 17 and got a quick zero so we could go hunting. No real complaints, the eye box got tight on the top end , so I left it around 10-12x for the day. I’m going to playing with it this week to see if I can get better eye relief. At 10-12x I had no problems seeing squirrels at 75-85 yards. Overall I think I got a good deal for the scope, sunshade, and caps for $270. I do plan on getting the Argos just to see how these two stack up.

It appears there is now a 29% rebate on the Bushnell Nitro Riflescopes as well as our blow out sale

Is the Forge the only one with a zero stop in that list? I'm looking and can find the 2.5-15 FFP MOA version for $400 not including the rebate. That's a heck of a deal. I'm new to this and would really prefer the mil version, sadly, since that's what everyone in NRL22 seems to use.
