I just recently purchased a RPR 338LM. I am looking to a scope for long range target. My LGS suggested Trijicon Tenmile 5-50x56mm Extreme Long-Range Riflescope, SFP, 34mm. Do you have any recommendations $2,000. Thank you in advance.

$2000?

I think a used Khales K624i with the AMR reticle is a great ELR scope. I have it on my .300NM. Definitely in your price range if you shop used. Not necessarily the best at anything, but still a premium scope that performs well in all categories. Very reliable tracking, and the AMR reticle is great for ELR work.

If you can dramatically increase the budget, I agree with the ZCO suggestion above. While TT makes nice scopes, I don't believe they have a very ELR suitable reticle, but maybe that's changed. But you also don't need to spend TT/ZCO money to get an adequate scope for your .338LM if you are on a budget.

If you can stretch your budget a little bit, contact Scott at Libert Optics and see what kind of deal he can make you on the
Vortex RAZOR HD GEN III 6-36X56 FFP

You might be surprised how affordably you could get it. That would be an excellent scope to go with if you wanted new.

Almost anything but what was recommended by your LGS. I'd stick with FFP so you can do accurate wind holds. I find a tree style reticle to be quite helpful nowadays. When I was younger I liked tree-less but they've grown on me. Much beyond 25x on the top end is a waste. You could very easily snatch up a Burris XTR3 or a Bushnell DMR or literally any of the other scopes listed above. You don't need to spend all of the 2 grand. You can very easily spend about 1000-1500 and have all the scope you'd ever want.

SFP will work well, especially at know distances or full magnification. I have an IOR Valdada for sale in here with great glass, with potentially better glass than Trijicon.

Been around 9 years, and only made 1 poorly-written post... Nobody finds this odd?
The only really odd thing would be that someone lurked here for 9 years and decided it was a wise investment to get a IOR Valdada in SFP but otherwise not really. There’s a lot of forums I made accounts and don’t post just because I simply made an account for the search function.

Just seemed odd to me... Then again, I never make accounts and then don't join-in the conversation. Seems like a waste of time to me. To each, his own...

I think to each his own my friend, it’s great that you have been lurking here 9 years
