I bought dad one of these back in october because i came into a fair bit of dosh for my 18th birthday. i sent mum on a holiday and cos dad is a shooter, and his only small centrefire was a shot-out and unsafe .222, i went and got him a hunting rifle.

Anyow. Its been a safequeen since i got it in about december. Main reason being it doesnt have a good scope.

Looking for something that isnt too much of a bank breaker, but maybe something in the 3-9 or 4-12x zoom. 40mm objective is fine, and maybe adjustable parralax if available.

What would people reccomend for something that is durable, not too expensive and will hold a decent level of accuracy. its still got the factory stock and its a light barrel so no need for a 600m tackdriver. Just something that'll stretch to say 300m.

Cheers guys.

For your planned usage I would look into the Bushnell 4200 3-9x40 for $299. I don't have one, but the 4200 series seem like great all-around scopes for the dollar. The Vortex Viper (not the PST since they are not available yet) also gets good reviews for that tier of scopes.

I am very pleased with my Tikka T3 Varmint, I think you will be happy with how the T3 Lite shoots as well.

I picked up a SFWA 3-9x42 SS mounted on an EGW heavy duty 0 cant rail and medium Leupold mk. 4 rings. I had to trim the front of the EGW a couple of notches to fit the scope.

The comb of the stock is too low for me I'll be adding a Karsten cheek piece this week.

I'm pretty happy with the super sniper but I think I would have preferred something with an illuminated reticle as I tend to lose the cross hairs in black targets.

YMMV

Here would be a good little scope to use. The Leupold MARK AR, and just because it say AR does not mean it is only for an AR you can use them on any rifle. The MARK AR has a long eye-relief, BDC for 223, and a Mil-Dot reticle. The glass is also very nice for the price.

4.5-14x 40mm Nikon Buckmasters.

Lightweight and compact design mounts well on the EGW picatinny rail. Mil-dot or plex reticle. Side focus or older A/O parallax, both are nice....

Cheers guys.
I have a Bushnell 4200 6-24 Tactical on the way. If i'm happy with that glass ill be tempted to go the bushnell with the firefly reticule. as has been said, it's a hunting rifle. and alot of hunting is done in low light.

I havent had any experience with Zeiss optic aside from a very old level unit at work. However i hear good things about them and if they have one in the shop i'll give it a look.

Dad has a Leupold 2-7x on his .22 Brno, and we're incredibly pleased with it. I am leaning toward another Leupold, along with Mk4 Rings.

I didnt know EGW make bases for them. I'll definitley pick one up, probably with 20MOA on it which would be perfect since the intended use would be out to say, 300m on some smaller varmints.

Cheers for all the feedback guys.
