Rifle Scopes scope for deer < than 500 yds

Looking for a scope for Cdeer hunting. It would be atop a savage long range hunter in 338 lapua mag. I would be shooting less than 500 yds. Would a need a drop compensation turret? Could u reccommend a scope. Under 500 bucks wide be nice. Thanks

Deerslayer not to be smart but there are a ton of threads here if you do a search. If you want to dial do you want mil or moa and what reticle style do you prefer. I personally am a big fan of vortex which is in your price range. Also consider warranty as the 338 lapua can play havoc on optics. I would also recomend checking the used optics section here as there are always deals to be found and many of the site sponsors will give a discount on new optics.

Under 500, I think the Midway Vortex 5-15 would be a good option for you. I would also recommend the Primary Arms 4-14 FFP scope, but I would want to get something with a lifetime warranty if possible due to the potential for blast damage from the 338.

For Coues deer to 500 yards get a .243 and a fixed 4x. Not kidding or being smart, that is what I take to Mexico to hunt them and it is no limitation at all.

I have a Redfield 4-12 on my Model 70 in .300 Win Mag and love it, this is pretty much what I use it for, moreso Elk than Deer though.
