Rifle Scopes Scope for Muzzleloader

Does anyone here hunt with an optic on their muzzleloader? What scope, power, reticle did you decide on? I read that the shotgun/muzzleloader scopes have the parallax set to 50-75 yards and thats what separates them from the rest. I am willing to spend @ $500 and will most likely go Leupold since I buy USA whenever possible. It looks like the muzzleloader scopes from Leupold are the lower end models but wonder how will they perform in hunting conditions, my lowest end Leupold is a VX3i and it worked fine this year 15 minutes before sunrise.

Does any one have the Ultimate Slam LR with the CDS and wind plex reticle? If so, how do you like it? Would you buy it again? I really don't know if the CDS is worth it on a muzzleloader since I think they are only 1 revolution adjustment. What are your thoughts?

I dont, can't use optics for muzzle loader hunting in my state. Unless you use it during rifle season.

Yea, we are allowed to. We have a muzzleloader season that is 2 weeks before rifle season starts so this year I am going to give it a try.

I have the original ultimate slam 3-9 and love it

I'm on my third year with a Bushnell 1.5-4.5x dawn and dusk shotgun scope. I had a Nikon that windage let go before it even zeroed so I put this $100 Bushnell on and it's been ROCK SOLID. I had some pretty low expectations but this scope has held up. Light weight. Good eye releif. Bright enough to shoot at first and last light, doesn't fog when I pull it out of the truck. Duplex reticle may hood it back a bit for distance shooting but I only shoot 100gr Pyrodex under a 250gr Barnes T-EZ. I won't shoot past 125-150 yards as the bullet will be going too slow to perform. Holds MOA at 100y where it's zero'd. I love the combo. Took three last year and only one took a step, 15 to be exact before she piled up.

Edit: if you're shooting one of the modern inlines that shoot 500+ yards (Remington/Savage) I'd look elsewhere. If you have something like what I shoot (CVA Optima) it's a good combo.

The scope will be going on a Knight Ultra-lite

The Leo slam lr is the one I am looking at but wondering if others preferred to get a regular scope and get them to adj the parallax if needed. Is the LR scope a VX-1, how do they compare to the vx3i?

So the VX-1 that is the Ultimate slam and the rest of the shotgun/muzzleloader line a 2 piece design? Is this a red flag, are the one piece tubes more durable or better?

I see they have a VX-3i 2.5-8x36 for the same price at $399, for $25 the will set the parallax from 50/60/75/100/150 and install a CDS on the elevation for $60. But, being that most likely all my shots will be at or under 100 yards, I don't know if the CDS will be that useful?
