Afternoon,

I was going to purchase the Vortex Viper PST scope in the FFP, but yesterday I was informed that it would be well into Jan/Feb 2011 before retailers would see one. So here's what I'm after:

WAS willing to pay in the $8-900 range for a FFP scope BUT am relatively convinced that a quality scope in the FFP can be had for less, BUT I'm still on a learning curve.

Guns: Savage BA110 300WM (for strictly LD/Target shooting
& Savage 116 300WM for LD Hunting

What I THINK one should have according to my research:

- FFP
- 6ish to 20ishx40 or 50

I liked the Vortex, but I'm tired of waiting. So I've come to the Loopy Mark 4. My theory is the the Loopy is certainly a great scope, but I'm paying a premium for the name as well.

What other options do I have? Can a great scope be had for $600 or so?

Thanks.

Shane

I bought the Bushnell 4200 6-24x50 illuminated FFP mil/mil scope but it's about $1000. It's a nice scope, though.

EDIT: Forgot I ordered from Liberty Optics where they are $790. I looked at SWFA just now to check price because they're usually great on price.

Can a "great" FFP scope be had for $600, sadly no. But some adequate ones exist. Ones that I have tried and can recommend:

Bushnell 4200 3-12x44mm FFP Mil/MIL Illuminated $680.
Bushnell 4200 6-24x50mm FFP Mil/Mil Illuminated $790. (Prices from Liberty Optics)

SS 3-9x42MM $599. From SWFA

Re: Scope Parameters Sought

Great! This finally gets me to a benchmark. I can afford more, but don't necessarily WANT to:)

This is precisely the info I've been looking for.

I can't confirm this on the pages I've found, but the turrets(sp?) I would presume are in sync with the reticle???

Morning Bob, et al.

I've purchased the Bushnell 4200 Elite FFP 6-24x50 since this last post, but understand that it is going away. Time moves on and so does technology, etc.

Repost of question for those of you constantly on the scene:

Budget $700 - $900
FFP 6-24x50
mil/mil turrets

What's out there now?

Thanks a ton.
