Rifle Scopes Scope ring question

Re: Scope ring question

You want the scope as low as possible on that platform. You can use the given heights, low, med, high, really just as a starting platform because every manufacturer is different. Its best to get the actual measurments of the ring heights and compare them to your scopes objective. Be mindful or factoring in your eye relief and where the scope sits in comparision to where the objective will hits the barrel. As a basic rule, low can USUALLY be used witha 40mm, med around 42mm-44mm, high with 50mm. this is just a general and basic outline to where you can start.

Re: Scope ring question

I actually have a set of the medium height weaver tactical rings on my 223 700 VTR. I had a 50mm vortex mounted in them with no problem. I'm sure the barrel contours are similar.

Re: Scope ring question

I've used the mentioned low weaver rings on an Egw HD 20 moa base and a weaver 20 moa base. The scope had plenty of room and still used a pad on the stock to check weld up a little. Stocks were b&c m40 and light tactical ( butt hook). Mediums would have been too high for me.
