Rifle Scopes Scope ?s

I need a tad bit of help choosing a scope, I have the max amount I want to spend on a scope set at $450. It is going to be my first scope.


Here are the contenders
Nikon Monarch 4-16x42mm Mildot
Mueller Tactical Rifle Scope 4-16x 50
SWFA SS 10x42

Ill eventually like to take the riffle to 1000yds so help away

It depends on how far your wanting to shoot. If its longer than 600yards I think the swfa would be the better choice due to having more elevation clicks. If its under 600 I would go for the nikon as to my eyes it has slightly better glass but falls short on elevation.

Actually, he didn't even specify that he wanted it to be fast.

I got a bit ahead of my self this morning.
The rifle is in .308, I'll be doing long range shooting with it. I have other guns and shotgun but this is my first rifle, so thats where my experience is.

Well, seeing as how you stated in your other thread that you've already ordered 1" rings, I probably wouldn't recommend getting the SWFA with it's 30mm tube...

yea I decided on getting the SWFA I'm just going to return those rings and see if I can get some of the SWFA ones.
