hello everyone new to this site but i was hopeing someone could help me find a nice scope for my savage mkll? i would like a scope with target turrets and a minumin of 12x for under $250 anyone have any ideas?

Bubba, you will be much better off with saving your cash until you can afford something that offers greater quality because for $250, you're blowing your wad on a piece of crap. When you have, say...$500 in hand, your options will be much better.

I would get a 4-16 Tasco if you need something for close range and a 6-24X Tasco if you don't. I have Tascos, Weaver, Bushnell 6500 and a Swarovski. I am not embarrest showing up at the range with a Tasco since I get just as good a performance with it as I do with the others.

Yeah, don't skimp on the glass, you are much better off saving a little more dough and getting something half way descent, than wasting $250 on a POS

If you could live with a 10x scope, I'd suggest checking Optics For Sale for a nice used Super Sniper 10x. This would give you a decent optic for about what you're wanting to spend.
If you later decide you need something more, you'll get most of your money back out of the SS.
