Scoped Rifle Case

Starlight for a hard case..everyone bitches about the latches being hard to operate. They have been redesigned and are very nice now. US made.
Sorry, let me clarify. I am looking for a soft case with a shoulder strap that will handle a scoped bolt rifle w/28" barrel.
I have a Boyt case but it only has hand carry handles that limit how much I can take to the line.

This has been a bitch point for me for a while now. I much prefer a soft case and I don't need one with a hundred pockets on it. I picked up a few at a local gun show about 7-8 years ago that were perfect. 2 way zipper, no pockets although they were black in color which I don't care for. Now their getting worse for wear and can't find them anymore. Bass Pro has a model that works but is still kinda bulky. They come in 48" and 52". Short of having them custom made, haven't been able to locate my original ones.
I do have a tactical "drag" bag but again its got a bunch of extra pockets that I don't need.

28" wow that's long. I would like to rebarrel my 26" but it shoots just too damn good. Anyway, I have a 52" Tactical Tailor drag bag that's perfect as a "scoped rifle case"(never dragged it 
). It's padded and has shoulder straps if need be. I don't know what your LOP is but you could compare the dimensions of the bag with your rifle.

Creedmoor Sports has some with backpack straps, one external pocket, an internal pocket, and a sheath for a cleaning rod for $116.95 for scoped rifles. They come in 41", 48", and 52". They come in any color you want as long as it is forest green. Not sure how tactical they are.

I would always recommend pelican. Their cases are amazing, the look great and are durable as hell. We've ran them over and they were fine.
51" seems to be the standard size for most drag bags so most of them should work. My blackhawk and eagle drag bags had no problem fitting the 338LM I once had with 27" barrel + brake.
TOO HEAVY and too LARGE. I agree, great for protection. But for for simple everyday use? The gun ALREADY weighs a ton. Fine when I tossed them in the pickup and then pulled it into the garage and locked the door.
NOW I have an SUV and space is at a premium. I'm with the OP. I'm trying to find a soft case for a 700 with a 27" barrel and a tall scope. I can stack 2 or 3 on the rear seat, and save the back cargo area for my Bench and the rest of the gear.
I've been happy with TRIAD's gear. Have to wait and see what they bring out for a case.

I agree. A soft bag is way more easier logistically. However, a hard case has its merits. Before my retirement. I'd carry my carbine in a soft case and when off duty id keep it in my SUV in a pelican case cable locked to the cargo grommets. Yes a cable is not the most secure but way better than loose in a trunk or behind a seat.
Thanks for the link to Ace Case. I was looking for a relatively inexpensive yet decent scoped rifle case for transporting rifles to and from the range. Searched high and low locally with no success. Everything I saw with the required length lacked the case height to fit my rifles with larger scopes. Ended up ordering two of these in 10x48".

Exactly what I did for years with an M-14 in the Hwy patrol cruiser. The 14 fit crossways across the back of the trunk fine in the old Caprices and Crown Vics...then they went to the smaller, Frt WD Impalas and the gun was really wedged in that little trunk.
I used to keep it in a pelican case, then flat ran out of room in the trunk.
