This is a movie we made about the Spuhr mounting system.
Its by no means perfect and it's made with pretty simple stuff and we don't have any prior experience for this stuff.
However I would very much appreciate opinions what can be made better about the movie, and also of course if there is any interesting ideas about what can be made better on the mounting system.

Re: Scopemount movie

Very nice presentation. My only suggestion would be for you to address different mount height options to accommodate different objective diameters (assuming you make them). Not everyone is going to use a 72mm objective on the TRG, and a 42 or 50mm objective would be unnecessarily high in that mount.

Re: Scopemount movie

+1 to what Dieselten said, and it would be great if you also had quick attach/detach mounts.

For example, my safe is not very deep, so rifles don't fit inside with a big scope on them, and I'd have to take it off every time I want to store it. A throwing lever on a rock-on mount would be the best, I think.

Very good first try, would recommend breaking them (it) up, with stuff like that I found that 5 minutes is about the threshold for people's attention. Really, it's closer to 3 minutes but you can stretch it out a bit if you add in some excitement.

Also, I just noticed, do you have an accent ? Sounds north of Boston or something

Re: Scopemount movie

Thanks a lot for the opinions.

Dieslten, that is certainly something I didnt think about.
But that should of course be meantioned.

In my opinion is the pure point and idea with a sniper rifle that the POI always should be where I owner intend it to be, and I have a hard time to understand what QD can do to improve that very important feature.

Terry. thanks!

Lowlight.
Our intention wazs/is to make one long and a number of smaller ones and place them on youtube. So this will eventually get parted in smaller pieces.
As a swedish we learn English is school, american english on television and in my case I have listened to loads and loads fo Irish and scottish music and that makes my accent somewhat changing I belive as I don't have any own natural accent.

But thanks anyway!

Are there any sniper's hide U.S. vendors that sell Spuhr products? </div></div>

I don't think they are SH vendor - but they are SPUHR distributors. Check Tactical Night Vision Company - TNVC.

Re: Scopemount movie

Overall, a good video. I have 2 suggestions that might make them great. First would be better sound; either a better studio, because I could hear an echo or better sound recording equipment. Second, some close ups of some of the items you were showing and talking about, I had no idea what you were showing sometimes and with the sound it was even harder to understand what it was. Other than that, I thought it was GTG.

Sniper rifles are not the only guns people put scopes on.

Surely it's possible to make something self-centering. The QD mount a range buddy is using on his Unique .308 rifle seems to work great for him. He has it for the purpose I mentioned.

Re: Scopemount movie

Sturmhead, Yes we will certeinly get a better recording equipment to get the sound better, and we will also learn the lesson about more closes ups and possible also more non movie pictures.

I agree and some of my huntinguns have QD mounts.
This scopemount line is however intended to be the optimum solution for MIL/LE and not a hunting line of mounts.
How good a QD system for picatinny ever is, there is always added some uncerainty and therefor for the purpose I don't see the QD as a good way to go.
I can understand that some users needs QD, for example on an AR10, running dual scopes for different purposes.
And I might come up with a QD solution one day for this, but I will not do it unless it has a significant advantage to all it's competitors.

Re: Scopemount movie

The advantage is that people with less space can also own one of your otherwise awesome mounts. And I bet there is more market than just those people.

I think if you can guarantee a POI shift of less than 1 MOA that's good enough for most people who want a QD mount. As long as they know to check their zero before doing anything important, I don't see any problem.
