It wasn't that Roberts did not let such cases proceed. It only takes 4 justices to grant a certiorari. The 4 conservatives just didn't trust him enough to take up a case like that. Things are different now.

EXACTLY!! I was listening to lawyer Robert Barnes podcast today and he said the same thing. Guaranteed it was pay off for refusing to hear the election cases.
