Apparently, the decision came last night. The justices voted 5-4 to deny, with Chief Justice Roberts and Amy Coney Barret siding with the liberal justices to deny. Therefore, he will be adjudicated/sentenced this morning at 9:30am and, officially, become a "Convicted Felon."

This is going to be interesting. Oh, to be a fly on the wall when Trump takes the "Oath of Office" on the 20th from Roberts himself! Will make for some interesting small talk on that dais! That is, if Roberts actually does it! I wonder if Trump will insist on a different justice (Thomas or Alito) if he can.

Second, what will be the fallout from all this? Will "unfortunate things" start to happen to Judge Merchan or DA Alvin Bragg? Or any others involved? I mean, I'm sure Trump's legal team can get the case reversed and dismissed, no problem. But for that "stain" of becoming a "Convicted felon..." will there be any "retaliation" against those doing the "staining?"

Hmmmmmmm..... Break out the Popcorn! 🍿

It is mere tradition that the chief justice administer the oath of office. The oath need not even be given by a judge. If president Trump desires he could take the oath from Don Jr or Barron.

It’s the correct decision for justices that believe in the process.

That’s why the appeal process is there, if the verdict is incorrect then it gets overturned.

This isn’t a immunity case / bad drone strike while in office.

This is a regular court case that needs to go through the process. If not it’s the opposite of law fare, it’s privilege.

Now should have the case been brought to begin with ..no but once it’s this far down the road and there is a process on the books..by default most higher court judges in general let it play out.

Supreme courts usually don’t get involved in yes no but rather follow the rules on the books. Rarely do the reply with “throw this case out”.

Personally, it just gives him more ammo. If the dems were smart they’d drop it and show they are the bigger person. Trump will still say they are crooked and then he looks like the irrational bully when spun.

The only "down side" to all this is that the Libtard Media gets to yell "CONVICTED FELON" all over the place (and at the top of their lungs) as Pres. Trump takes the Oath of Office on Jan. 20. That's the stain. That's the damage. And, that's their original objective, I believe. Like I say, I'm confident Trump's legal team can get the conviction reversed/dismissed pronto. And, I know they know that. But as long as they can call him a convicted felon on the day/moment he's sworn in, that's all that matters. Mission accomplished.

They have been saying it for 10 years..no one cares anymore.

They still don’t get why they lost the election…which is a good thing lol

Justice Roberts is a RINO, always has been. His vote is no surprise.

Trump should have picked die-hard MAGA justices last time. Barret is a "moderate" and you can see just how well that worked out for Trump. If he gets another chance, I hope he makes better choices this go around.

Problem is they say what they have to say to get in, then become squishy liberals as time goes on.

Does sentencing end the gag orders?

Apparently, so, but I wonder if it makes any dfference, What could he say at this point?

Edit: I'm seeing on the media that Trump had wanted to complain about Merchan and his daughter being involved in the democratic "machine" etc. and that's what he was gagged about. But Trump still has to be careful, not to say anything that might affect the appeals process (judges, etc.), Furthemore, if Trump complains about (for example), Merchan's daughter, and something "nefarious" happens to her as a result, they could try to pin that on Trump.

He still has to be careful. I think only after a full dismissal or summary adjudication can he say something.

Precisely so. Which is why we have to avail ourselves of the same tactic and get "sleeper" conservatives in the other positions. Conservatives we know we can count on and haven't yet been ferreted out by the libtards. I'd love to do that with some of our FL State reps that keep turning down our Pro-2A bills!

Just like Marion Berry of DC? :ROFLMAO:

Being a convicted felon probably got Trump a lot more votes than he lost votes to it. Those that truly believe Trump is guilty were never voting for him and I suspect quite a few "independents" saw through the lawfare and voted for him because of the weaponization of the legal system.

If you watched any snippets floating around from the Carter funeral Trump has proven he can meet his enemy face to face on the “field”, be polite and follow decorum. I doubt he will request a change.

Update: I was listening to Newsmax as they repeated the audio of Judge Merchan imposing sentence. While he did, indeed, impose an "unconditional discharge" as advertised, what he did not do is (formally) lift the gag order (i.e. he never said the words "You are no longer under a gag order"). Perhaps it was "automatic" and not needed, but I would have preferred him say it officially, even if redundant.

These gag orders should be unconstitutional. Have they ever been tested and ruled on by scotus?

Certainly after conviction they have to be lifted.

I thought Dems were all about convicted felon rights and coddling those with records. This should strengthen his stance among Dems, right?

Can't own a gun, but has the nuclear codes!

We are at a place where a demented old man is President, about to be replaced with a Felon; invaders run across our border and greeted with open arms; California is burning to the ground; celebrities have their hands in kid's pants; 90% of women are sporting tats and posting their nude bodies all over the internet; we are sending money to the Taliban; we are $36 Trillion in debt; and the list goes on and on. We are sooooo doomed as a society and country! I figure I have 25-30 years left on this rock.......can't wait to see how mad it really gets! Everyday is something new!

Once again, this shows whats a two-tier, double standard system as one side is held to highest standards while the other side has no standards.

Trump may be percieved as an "irrational bully" by the uber sensitive after being hemmed up in what were clearly false charges brought fourth by an openly criminal regime and their courts, meanwhile the criminal regime headed by Biden lies and pardons his criminal son with fuck you impunity. Nobody is triggered, not one panty is twisted and noone is percieved as a bully.

Only those that share the same political ideology as TPTB. Only those that mght still vote/support the dem candidates.

Can't own a gun, but has the nuclear codes!

He doesn't need one anymore. He has the "Secret Service." He just better make sure he has the right agents on his team! And I'm pretty sure the FL Legislature will find a way to "doctor" the system to allow him to vote in FL based elections.

Sounds like an invitation for the "2nd coming," right? Hopefully, not too soon (I have things still on my "bucket list") but, eventually.
