Rifle Scopes scrambling for a scope

got it.
hate being in between a rock and a hard place...
i think i might end up selling one my bows to fund a scope purchase
Again, better be sure the scope is the issue or you will be in the same boat even if you buy a $3000 scope. See if a friend has a scope you could try.. My guess is it is not the scope. I can't even think of how a scope could cause that as long as the internals are moving left and right when you tell them to.

i unfortantly do not have friends that part take in my hobby of rifle hunting. most of them are pistol and AR type guys. i am getting to the point that i am going to remove a scope from another rifle. i really hate to do it though.

You should def take a scope off of another rifle. I assumed you didn't have another one since it wasn't brought up!

Guess it’s the rifle then. This scope is a leupold Vx-1 3-9x40

Im guessing you are trying to boresight there. Call and tell them to send your scope back, order a set of burris signature rings, add inserts to fix windage, go hunting.

My option right now is boresight the rifle. Home with my baby and wife is working.

So let’s say I do order the rings. Is that the correct answer to my problem?!? Or should weatherby make this right?

Yea bore sighting is fine. If it’s alway off and you have to dial a ton of wind to get close it’s the rifle. It’s really up to you. I have a really accurate rifle I had to shim the scope on. Not sure what the maker would do or not do.

i should have done this from the beginning. ill get on the phone with weatherby monday morning and see what they say. i dont mind shimming the scope but i want the manufacturer to make right as well.
thank you everyone for the help

No prob. Don’t sweat it too much if they dont want to do anything to fix it. Once you shim it correctly it’s fine. If the scope is very near mechanical center and zeroed everything will work the same as if it was aligned perfectly.

yeah your right. i will see what the manufacturer says but i am truly hopeful they stand by their product and fix it. Its a lot of money to drop on a rifle for it not to be manufactured correctly. if they dont, i move on and find another rifle i like.

Look at it this way, at least you will have an extra set of good scope rings if Weatherby does make it right for you. I have a couple sets of those rings, one 34mm set is on a 300 WSM and I have at least 100 rounds through it on that rifle and it is holding strong.

Thoughts on Nikon monarch 5 3-15x50 with target turrets? I have rings for this scope since it’s 1in
Still really considering that athlon Midas btr though

Nikon's MONARCH 5 with HD glass is one heck of a scope. I have one on my Hill Country Rifle in .300 Win. Dialed in with Spot On it has brought down 6 deer in 2 years all 1 shot stops. There are some great deals on this scope right now if you look around.
