Scratches on resized brass

So before I get land blasted for what sounds like a very novice problem, I have been reloading for over 30 years and this is the first time I've encountered this issue. In short, I resized 100 pieces of once fired 6.5CM brass with brand new Hornady dies....no issues. Then the next batch I start to resize, from the first piece of brass, I noticed difficulty running the brass through the resizing die. On inspection there are several scratches running the length of the brass (vertical of course). Prior to trying to resize the brass was cleaned in a wet tumbler with only solution and no pins, dried, then placed in reloading blocks and sprayed with a light coat of One Shot. After seeing a few pieces come out scratched I removed the die and can see brassy colored stripes running vertically inside the die. I disassembled the die and tried to clean it out with Bore Tech Eliminator and can still see the brassy scratches. Then I resorted to a chamber mop in the drill with Wheeler 600 lapping compound... I can still see and feel the scratches. I'm getting the feeling that this die may be trashed. Any input is appreciated.

Redding had me polish with 400 grit in a dowel. They said dies are so hard there is very little risk of over polishing them. I.E removing much material when polishing them.

This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ and after getting all of the galled brass out of the die, try using the One Shot more evenly, outside the loading blocks. I never spray cases in loading blocks and I don't get difficulty sizing. Improperly applied Hornady One Shot seems to cause more resizing issues than any other type of case lube.

I spray in a tupperware container. I never spray them in loading blocks either. I always see people having problems with it, I don't know how to nail down the cause. It never gives me trouble. Maybe its because I size my brass dirty. {leave on the carbon lube}

I polished a bunch of my dies, when I had to polish my redding die. I may just get out some 400grit and polish my Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor die. I have only done about 400 sizing operations with it so far..
