I have been firing a Remy 700 .308 for a while. I really like the rifle, but the semi-auto bug bite me. First I purchased a milled AK from Centurion Arms. In the end I wasn’t completely happy with the AK’s performs, so I took one more bite and ordered an AR15 from Rainier Arms. I called Rainier Arms the July 10 ordering parts to start the build they would do for me. They had most items in except for the upper receiver; I was going to go with their milled upper. They said they did not know when the upper would come in, so I decided to give them a couple weeks. After talking to another polite gentleman he suggested looking at Mega Upper. I then saw the side charging upper. I thought it was a cool idea and would prefer side charging with the scope of top. So now I am on a mission to find Mega Arms side charging upper which is not really Mega’s per say. A company apparently makes them for a few dealers like Alexander and a third that slips my mind. After lots of calling around no one had any in stock or know when the upper would be back in stock. Mega gave me a wait of months. Then BLDTYLRY made a suggestion of Quentin Defense. Their uppers are 6061 not the more desired 7075. They mailed the upper for me directly to Rainier after some kind of week delay (USPS). But I found out it has lost some where a week after I called Rainier and they said they had received it. Calling Rainier was hit or miss. Some of the guys were great to talk to and helped a lot; then others were too busy to help the customers or even check if they had a part or make sure they get the right part for me. I ended up with an olive PRS stock instead of the black I had requested, but it matches the scope thankfully. Another delay of a week was because of my FFL (Bryant’s Gun and Pawn apparently don’t like transferring AR Lowers but the employees didn’t know) not sending their license which never happened and I have change gun shops. The lower finally got here September the 11.
