Hunting & Fishing Season is almost here !

Well for me anyhow , August 15th , 2 weeks from Wednesday ... Short range cow elk ( bp,archery,shotgun or straight wall pistol). So far I'm 6 for 6 opening week but dang it's hot . Smoke just cleared out from the fires but it will be 80's . I try to shoot them on water just before dark and have done well , but it is a little hotter this year .

Anyone else gearing up for an early hunt ? Or am I the only crazy around here ?

Fall bear starts on 8/1 here. Leaving Fri for a few days. Deer, & Elk starts mid Oct. Getting closer.

nov 15th for us up here in mich for whitetails

but we've already got one new blind up and another waiting to go in when i can gather up the guys to do a deer-camp-prep weekend away from their wives.

i'm completely out of venison as i didnt get one last year so i'm jonesin!

dads puttin the trail cam out this week, we've got a half dozen nice bucks still in velvet roaming in the soybeans so we hope to get a close look at them

I like to do this early elk so I can get my hounds in a few bear races in September . I dedicate Oct.for mulies , november to whitetail and trapping . Then I'm trapping through march + predator calling/hounds and steelhead .

This tag rolls over into Archery /any elk for the whole month of sept .

That's one thing about Idaho , we can literally big game hunt something year round .

Dove season starts labor day, a few weeks of early teal/canada goose, than archery oct 1. I'm gettin the itch, can't wait for the cooler weather and football that goes with hunting

The seasons can not get here quick enough!!

My county in VA starts Nov. 17; however, bow starts Sept 1. NY starts Nov. 17th as well for gun, but unfortunately Oct 1 for bow.
