I like the idea of using one hand to shift left/right and up down. For ELR use.

I have one for FTR it takes practice to get used to it..but its awesome config

I just sold mine. I had it for about 8 months. It changes up the way you shoot and you get used to firing when you should. It never helped my groups over a Sinclair fclass bipod and I never did like it a great deal however they are super light and look very nice. On a heavy ass extra long range gun I think you’d be better off going with a sturdier bipod. Having said that the joy pod is awesome for kids. I had kids that aren’t strong enough to manipulate the heavy rifle on a Sinclair bipod use the joypod with great success after I initially set it up for them. They were hitting 2 moa size plates at 600 yards with little shooting experience.

I think too light for ELR . A few FTR guys run them , and tell me they require a lot of skill to run compared
to a Phoenix / Rempel style bipod . You can now get Phoenix style ski feet for the Joypod , much thinner
and the feet pivot unlike the standard Joypod feet .

Agree, it does take getting used to. I went from an Atlas to the Joy-Pod in FTR on 3 different rifles. After I found the "sweet spot" my scores improved and I was more consistent shot to shot. It is light but very well built and engineered.

The Joy-Pad didn't work for me. It was too small. A steel plate covered in thick carpet did the trick.

The Joy-Pod worked for me, but like all things in our shooting sport finding the right piece of equipment can be time consuming and expensive.

Mine works well on my 375. It does change the way you aim though. Most around here including myself, steer the rifle from the rear bag. You have to get your head to stop thinking that way. You line everything up and make final small adjustments with the joystick. You don’t load the joy pod either. A light touch or free recoil is more what it’s designed for. If you need to make weight for something, it is really light though.

I shoot similar groups off my 5h as I do my joy pod.

Thank you for the responses... They seem hard to get, Bruno's has a backorder going, and there is one for sale on a forum, but I might wait to get some hands on with other popular bipods.

I pretty much shoot one handed since my right hand is fairly useless, so that was the appeal, and it looks beautiful, but that should be lower down on the priority list.

I was also thinking about using an Atlas 5-h or PSR and make a rectangular pad out of steel and neoprene, that I can level. I just like the thought of one handed micro adjust.

Does it remain fairly close on after a shot? assuming the rifle just slides straight back on recoil over a good rear bag....

“TF160”... would you happen to remember the weight difference between the Atlas and the Joy-Pod? My AIAX is at 17.8 lbs, and I’m trying to create a FTR system to shoot while I’m in Ontario this coming summer... do you have the plus/minus? Thanks!

Geno, I’m still in a world of hurt... I’m replacing a PSR model... website lists at 13.1 oz... now I need to come up with 7.5 oz offset if I’m going to switch, thanks for the measurement! More thought required!

I’d take my Joypod over my Phoenix any time there is a smoothish surface. I haven’t gotten the Phoenix type feet for my Joypod though

Wow... that looks like a great option... elevation control appears more “gross” vs the joy-pod... It would be interesting to hear an actual experience - I would assume fine-tuning is done by pinching the rear bag still... Need to put it on the list for consideration though… Thanks for sending this along!

@Trek the height adjustment is very, very fine. to make bigger adjustments i take the weight off the bipod and twirl the adjustment rod between my fingers.

Seb Joypod is a work of art, but I've seen many come and go through shooters hands...... Very few people from my experience have had success in there use, though have tried hard to love them. YMMV
