Ill be out of the army soon, I want to keep up on my skills, I was in my units sniper section for more than 2 years. I got to play with some cool stuff. and want to continue that fun(without all the low-crawling, and climbing buildings). with the army you shoot whatevr they give you; and that being whatever the govt. can get in bulk on the cheap. I know the 700 is a fine weapon and the M110 is great but I always thought of the M107 as being "just what was on sale at the time. Although I always shot well within the advertised 3MOA for that platform, other guys seemed to have problems with it. so im looking for advise on comparable civilian modles of thease weapons, and not only that but optics. Im leaning heavely on picking up a barrett 98B as my promotion to "MR." preasent to my self. but am lost in the choices of Optics. I like mil dots for range-e but they seem to be out of style in the new scopes.

Re: seeking advise

Depending on your budget. I have Nightforces on my AIAWSM 338LM, and Windrunner M96 50BMG. Very happy with the Nightforces. They now have the FFP Nightforces as well. Of course there are other fine scopes out there that will be quite suitable for your 98B.

Re: seeking advise

You can get a Leupold MK4 and enjoy the lifetime warranty and value that comes with it! Try the TMR reticle if you want something a little different than your standard mil dot. I've been using one of the FFP models I aquired used for a few weeks now, and am quite satified.
