I'm looking at getting seekins to build me one of their 20" rifles. I customized one on their website and liked what I saw. Can I get some feedback on their products. (Especially their rifles) what's the expected accuracy?

What's their lead times (average) on full builds? I have emailed their sales dept with a couple questions and am really not happy with the 1-liner responses that didn't come close to giving me an answer.

I have been trying to get a Seekins upper for 6 mos and it is a nightmare. No one will take the order, no one knows anything, one dealer from the site had one and offered it to me then sold it to someone else after I told him I would take it and ask how to pay. If you need to get this going, get something else. Also, like GAP, Seekins will be vigoriously defended on this site. I think they are very good people, but the shoot sponsers are always stood up for. Much of the supply problem has to do with the election. I still think the dealers at least need a better system. If I do not find an upper soon, I think I will take my lower and crush it with a hammer and put in in my sig line.

Sorry you feel that way, What upper do you have on order? We JUST started assembling standard uppers yesterday, Just finished a run of 900 of them and we are working on the iRMT uppers now. I wish i could give ETA's and such, but we have been over run. Thats why dealers wont give a eta either. We wont give them one. I wish i could, i wish i could hit a magic button and get you one. We tripled staff this year and we are growing as fast as possible to keep up with demand. This year we have out grown our building, its a delicate balancing act.
We don't need anyone to defend us, im a man and can take criticism, make the best of it and grow. I know we wont make everyone happy 100% of the time, but i do my best to take care of issues if they arise.
Having said that, we get allot of people that just see if we have something in stock and never order, then complain they cant get it.
PM me your info and i will see what i can do for you. If nothing else, you are very high on the list if you have been waiting that long!
We are not giving out lead times on AR products, as you can imagine the industry is a bit crazy right now leading up to the election. Earlier this year we couldn't get a bolt carrier or a forward assist to complete a gun. If i gave you a eta, then our order for a stupid spring needed to ship your rifle falls thru we are the ones that look bad, so we decided it was best to be up front and not lead anyone on. We are led on by suppliers all the time and nothing pisses me off more.
For complete guns, we have been waiting on uppers. they are coming in pretty much every other day now so we should be good to build a bunch soon.

If that's the case we will defiantly take your back order here and you will ship as soon as your name comes up. I know that Rainier arms notify list works very well, as soon as they come in you get a email. Fortunately for us our parts sell quick, but i can see how that could be frustrating. We built enough uppers for inventory and we are building inventory on other items right now. Hopeful in the very near future this wont be as much of a issue.

Great products that are hot sellers are always a problem.
Seekins is just one of them and patience is a virtue.
I love Seekins products and they have NEVER been easy to obtain.
I am not complaining at all.

I have read on many forums of upper builds that are short for completion waiting on a carrier or a bolt , it spans all calibers and companies.
Many customers who are in the pipeline have spare upper parts on hand and would gladly send the part to the company for installation / fitting / testing / completion BUT there are a couple of issues there.
The customer would want a discount for the part provided.
The part sent in may be of inferior quality or in poor condition.
Complexity of tracking the parts coming in to the shop and associating them to the correct build would be tough.
It is too bad there isn't an Industry partner out there that would work with AR builders AND the waiting customers to source parts from outside the supply chain (used parts market) to get these assembly lines moving again.
As a consumer it just seems like the election is used as a crutch too many times when the true reason may be supply shortages from suppliers who offer volume sales to businesses.
Its a tough biz and I am just thinking aloud, not flaming anyone.

Well, here's my story -- so far so good. We'll see. I just ordered a Seekins complete build today. An upgraded CBR -- iRMT-3 upper and 15" SP3 rail, SSA-E trigger, 16" SS match barrel, Ergo delux grip, Ace fixed stock (8.5"), 223 Wylde, SP ATC pinned and welded muzzle brake, standard bolt carrier group. I list all this b/c it might help someone decide what they want. Note that my understanding is that the iRMT upper is proprietary, meaning it only takes the SP3 hand guard. Keep that in mind if you are looking for a fully milspec AR (I wasn't -- I want quality, ergos and accuracy above all). Anyway, the Seekins folks were good in either answering the phone or calling me back same day. I spoke with Michelle, who takes orders, and Shiloah, who must be some kind of shop guy b/c he seemed to have a lot of specific knowledge. Shiloah in particular was very helpful at helping me decide what I want. He is supposed to call me Monday to discuss controls issues (i.e., bolt release, mag release, selector) and cerakote options. As to the control issues, I am a lefty so am curious about whether the Seekins lower is truly ambi. I'll be honest - I wanted a Larue. But they are quoting 4 1/2 months minimum and I see people have been waiting more like 6-9 months. Even Larue dealers said for me to expect a 6 month minimum wait. Seekins seemed to be an excellent alternative with a much (hopefully) shorter wait time and every bit the same quality. I will say that in my quest for a custom AR precision build, I am astonished that these outfits don't have the resources to meet the demand (I say this in a curious way not in a critical way). I mean, I'm trying to give them money and they are not equipped to take it. In this economy, it shocks me. Anyway, I hope Seekins comes through for me.

I am also in the process of waiting on some uppers. I had been wanting to have an AR built for some years and have just got around to putting it in the process. After getting the chance to fondle and look at his lowers i bought 2 and had the both set up for 2 different builds and are here waiting on the comeplete uppers. Rangerwalker on here is putting together a comeplete upper for me when they arrive and using a standard upper on the other build. I was lucky to be able to check out most makes of uppers and lowers as a friend has a business and stocks everything AR. Seekins stuff is just down right sexy and top notch stuff. I am willing to wait on getting what i want. I am done after these 2 unless he comes out with something to build on a larger caliber. If and when he does i will be first in line for 2 sets.

I added a Norgon Ambi catch, BAD-ASS safety selector and Raptor CH. The gun is as Ambi as i could hope for it to be now! You won't be dissapointed in Seekins
