Damn...I have read about these guys...I can now see what I read about their dedication was totally true...amazing
I remember when they were told that they could stand down until a hurricane had passed through, that they would not be required to stand guard during the hurricane. They all said they would continue their guard duty regardless of the hurricane.
Had a squad leader and a team leader that were former tomb guards. They used to talk about how spit and polish it all was but that they did real training from time to time. It's a temporary duty position (you don't stay there for years and years usually) and you have to be squared away and a certain height and weight, ie, you have to fit the uniform, not the other way around (kinda like EOD!).
