you may wind up selling those two Rolex's for supplies and ammo... what would be best then for a reliable time piece is the consideration... the only reason I am holding the Submariner..
This guy likely has other assets. Doubtful he is going to be bartering.
.....if it gets to the point that we are bartering for supplies and ammo....luxury items are going to be worthless, i dont care about a Rolex if society has collapsed enough that i am bartering for basic necessities.you may wind up selling those two Rolex's for supplies and ammo... what would be best then for a reliable time piece is the consideration... the only reason I am holding the Submariner..
I love my sangin instruments. some would say im just a fan boy. i dont care. I still love it. and you can find them for semi ridiculous prices on ebay if you want one.
thats the one that lives on my wrist. Love my dark merlin.Yeah, a Sangin Dark Merlin would fit the OP's needs. 6mins of sun to run the watch for 6 months...
Cheap $15 Timex. Buy a few, because, you’ll lose some operating at Starbucks, maybe even on the exfil.looking for a wrist chronometer that is self winding... tactical in hardness and durability... perhaps some field operators here can suggest choices...
Must be a Seiko thing. I’m wearing a Seiko 5 that gains 4 minutes every day...I had a Seiko self winding watch when I was young, never figured out how it gained time!
That's a LOT.Must be a Seiko thing. I’m wearing a Seiko 5 that gains 4 minutes every day...
That's a LOT.
To be sure, download WatchCheck app and test it.
Also, 4mins being ALOT, take it to a watch guy and have them regulate it.... it could be "Magnetized". I had a watch that was tracking 22s/day and we demagnetized it and it was at 6s/day.
Bell & Ross, Panerai, amd Breitling.

Hit me up in the PM's for his info.
Can your guy work on the old Seiko automatic winding watches that also had an alarm watch function (usually hand wound for that part)?
G-shocks really do earn their bulletproof reputation.I bought a G Shock solar charging watch for 69$ at Walmart 18 years ago , I’m on my 3rd plastic band and that’s all I’ve done to it .
It’s the only watch I’ll own now . I bought a back up off eBay for 36$ . Never wore it yet .
I wore it in dozens of wet high heat environments as a career firefighter.
I never need to set it or adjust it , it’s atomic and solar .
Thank you so much for sharing this. I have an old Seiko that needs this in a bad way.
